Lyrics for Angel In disguise by Corrinne May
I woke up this morning feeling kind of blue
and I stumbled out of bed and
dragged my feet across the room
Right outside my front door was a rose
and a note that said 'Somebody Loves You'

Oh~ But out on the street it starts to pour
and before I get soaking wet,
A total stranger runs to give me
the jacket off his back
I turn around to thank him
But he waves me with a smile
And I can hardly believe my eyes
He puts on a halo and starts to fly

Take a look at the ordinary
Don't need to look for Paradise
You could be next to
an angel in disguise

I met a good friend for lunch
and we had a delicious meal
But I forgot to bring my wallet
I felt like an imbecile
But she was sweet, she gave me a treat and
Bought me a chicken sandwich
To take home for tea

Oh~ But out on the street with nothing to eat
A man and his shopping cart go
Travelling to places
Collecting social graces
I give him my sandwich
and we chatter for a while
I see a rainbow wash over his eyes
He gives me his halo and
I start to fly

Take a look at the ordinary
Don't need to look for Paradise
You could be next to
an angel in disguise

Don't try to hide away from me
I know you're by my side
Oooh~~

Take a look at the ordinary
Don't need to look at Paradise
You could be next to
an angel in disguise

Everyday can be legendary
Every minute, an endless surprise
You could be the next angel in disguise

I woke up this morning
Feeling kind of new

Lasallian Leadership Training Camp ' 08
2 words to describe: Life changing.

Day 1:

Settling down-11 members. 1 sick facilitator.

Walk the Talk-Our task was to reach St. Stephen's School in 2-3 hrs. We followed the bus trail but didn't have time. We took bus. =(

Paradigms&principles lecture(Bro Mike)-Interesting.. paradigm is the way you view things. principle is a law of nature(like the principle of moments) =))

Games!-My group won EVERY GAME except the alphabet one. Cos we SYNERGIZED.

La Salle(servant leader)-Detailed history of our founder. Nice.
Day 2:

Morning run(at McRitchie)-1st day so it was tiring 4 me. Nvr exercise for so long.

Private victory lecture-Very interesting. Private victory is self-mastery. How to achieve it?
U must have these 3 habits.
1. Be PROACTIVE - be enthu
2.Think with the END in MIND - set goals. keep in mind.
3.Put FIRST THING'S FIRST - prioritise.

Ropes course(private victory)-It was at Sarimbun. The place where they had the Showdown.=)
What I did:
1. Flying fox-scary when u drop.
2.Abseiling-moving backwards can be frightening.
3.Challenge pole-2 ppl climb up a pole 2-3stories high.both sit.both balance on small see saw built into it. Both jump off and catch the hanging bar in front.( I couldn't catch it.)=)
Damn scary.

Our heritage(Musical)-A mini musical of the story of our founder.
4 ppl went home. 1 went for CCA and went home. Now left 6 ppl.=(

Day 3:

Morning run- We stayed as a group. Quite nice.

Public Victory-Deals with building good relationships with other people. How to achieve it?
U Must have these habits.
1. Think win-win. - Allow both parties to win. Win-win situation.
2. Seek first to understand. Then to be understood.- You must understand others fully first before you let them understand you.
3.Synergize - Combine the good ideas of all group members. The ideas may not be compatible at first. You will make necessary adjustments. the group come up with an idea that nobody came up with on his OWN. And it is better than all ideas put together. (1+1=3 or more) Not maths.

Dragonboat- Rain for 2-3 hours before we can dragonboat. wet like hell. quite tiring but fun=)

Al fresco dining- We ate a bowl of tasteless porridge. Just to give an experince of the poor people.

Social realities(Bro Collin)-Damn funny. Talks from teenage crime all the way to the red light district. all social problems in S'pore. Good exposure for me.

Supper(the best)-Chocolate puff.Curry puff.Popiah.=)) => to make up for the dinner.

Day 4:
Morning PT-Banglarobics.

Journey with the Dream - We went to Orang Valley Nursing home for the Aged. I talked to a senile old Malay woman. Very pitiful. She was happy that I talked to her at first. She gave me single lined and weird answers to my questions. Eventually I ran out of questions and I left her.(Oops) Her hands were like deformed. =(( We did exercise for like an hour.(For old ppl somemore) and performed for 2 groups of ppl. I was FREAKIN THIRSTY!!! Later we had lunch at Novena square=)BK

Journey Debrief-Quite good. Identifies learning points of the journey. I laughed my way through with Matthew.

Solidarity Lasalliana - In front was a piece of bitter gourd, a cup of water, a piece of lime, a piece of lontong and a piece of rocksugar(yum yum). It was a reflective session. The best one among all the other reflective sessions at night.

Day 5:

Morning run- We did Torture Course(which was damn slack)indoors since it rained.

Sharpen the Saw(Bro Mike)- Its a habit of renewal. To renew the 4 dimensions that make up YOURSELF.Physical,Mental,emotional,spiritual.
Physical- Keep fit.
Mental- Keep sharp. Play rubics cube or sudoku.Simplestuff.
Emotional/social-Make constant deposits(Build up TRUST) in your Emotional Bank Account in relationships with friends and family. How? Keep to promises. Be punctual.Be polite.ETC
Spiritual-Focus in prayer. Create a personal mission statement(PMS).lol. Seek a purpose in life.

Mega-summary-We had to draw something to represent what we learnt in the camp. My group completed it. It was like a 2 man's effort. Damn plain=(((( don care la

More boring lecturesss,......

Commisioning and closing-Declaring my personal mission statement in my group. Singing reflective songs. And lastly. BANGLAROBICS- Pretty woman.

Mysterious worlds
I'm bored. I just wanna post something that you may find interesting that came to mind.

There are four mysterious worlds(physical worlds) in my opinion:

1. the sea
2. outer space
3. the quantum world(sub-atomic world)
4. the world of the afterlife

The sea:

As you know the sea is filled with countless species of marine creatures and micro-organisms. Since they are countless, I still think that there are some species that are yet to be discovered in the blue planet. As you go deeper and deeper into the sea it get darker and well, even MORE mysterious. In deeper levels there are fish with 'light bulbs' attached to their head. Sounds retarded , but God made it for a reason. Its clear. God makes everything for a reason. Anyway, underwater there lives a huge population of Jin or Genies which can't be detected with the human eye.(according to my religion-no offence=)) And I read this book that says this Jin population is directly related to the phenomena at the Bermuda Triangle, where ships and aircrafts disappeared. Sounds scary but till now , I think no human has solved this Bermuda Triangle mystery yet. O.o

Outer space:

Well, we humans are quite good actually. We discovered up to 9 planets including our own. Quite outstanding for small beings. BUT, there is still a large volume of vacuum that has to be explored. Too bad for us, the universe expands all the time. At a rapid rate according to Einstein's theory of Relativity and the Quran. Are there beings in other planets at the far edge of the universe? How many galaxies are there in total? Do they keep appearing as if there is an infinite amount of galaxies? Not to mention planets?? Yes, how many stars are there? Do UFOs or aliens really exist? If yes, how does their body function and what do they need to take in to live? .... Well, the fact that the universe is expanding all the time already sounds weird. And a long long time ago before we came into existence, the universe was as small as an atom. This is called a singularity. Did time exist then? We all know that God existed then. He exists from the infinite past all the way to the infinite future

The quantum world:

This is where nature unveils its true self. Look at light. Wat the heck is it? You can't feel it or see it as particles. But the truth is, light is composed of particles called photons. And its proven. But it is detected as waves at first. here came wave particle duality. Electrons also behave like both waves and particles in the natural world. But how can something behave like both waves and particles. Both are way different. Why is there such thing called entanglement? When particles are created from a single source. They will be 'entangled'. When something happens to one of the particle, the same thing will happen to the rest. According to theory, everything is entangled since we are created through the big bang. And ultimately, God created the big bang. But to think again about light, how can it be a particle?? It can move extremely fast-3 00 000 000m/s but it has no mass. Does is mean that if it has no mass then we can't feel it physically?? Well, light is one example of how mysterious the quantum world is. How about dimensions? We can only see that there are 3 dimensions. Einstein proposed that time is another dimension. I agree with him. So there are more dimensions than meets the eye. And according to string theory, which is reliable according to the Quran, there are 11 dimensions! So the are like 7 more dimensions. These dimensions are sooo incredibly small that we can't see them. They are curled up. Can humans see small as small can be? We only reached the electron microscope and can 'see' atoms. But are they that great? Can we reach the ultimate level of the world of the small?

The world of the afterlife:

The most mysterious of the four worlds. What will this world look like? Its far bigger than this world and time passes more slowly in that world than in this world.(according to relativity). What will be in that world? What will we do there? Is it true that our world is just a membrane and the afterlife also. And we are separated by space?(according to string theory) How do we travel from here to there? Through gravity particles?

To think again, why did God create these mysterious worlds for us? Well in my opinion, it was to allow us to see how great he was. So that we will obey him and think of him as the almighty. Why did he want us to look at him as the most powerful?- so that we will be afraid to sin against him and as a result do good to ourself and others. What is our purpose of living in this mysterious world. Namely- to do good.

We only have one life - Don't mess it up. Make it count.
(words from Ms Kathleen from the Beijing trip)

Hope this will wake some people up. And I hope this will make you ponder.

=)
